Female genital mutilation: estimating girls at risk
The subject matter of the contract is to produce the study aimed to strengthen and test EIGE's methodology in order to further support Member States and help the EU to achieve the goal of eliminating female genital mutilation. The study will contribute to EIGE's long-term objective on combating and eliminating gender-based violence in the EU.
In line with EIGE's Strategic Framework on Violence Against Women the study will support the European institutions and Member States in the estimation of the number of women and girls at risk of female genital mutilation, more effective prevention, information and data collection, awareness raising and integration by providing recommendations-proposals on more effective policies and relevant services, on awareness raising and communication within the Member States and on experience sharing.
